Sanctions and Slavery According to Thompson’s Theory

Image

Thompson was a black slave, who as many other slaves hated slavery. Thompson’s owners or masters were very cruel and thought that with a little whipping once in a while would keep the humbleness of the slaves (even if the slaves hadn’t committed any fractions). In the other hand, Thompson believed in justice, and that God would punish America for tolerating the slavery institution. He always focused on whipping to being the mark of slavery, and sanctions as the number one issue. We can conclude that what Thompson believed, or what his inner theory was, was that slavery would not be justified by God, and that one day God would punish all those who tolerated slavery.
