People say that the government should be the one to control prices, but not the people. This is clearly not possible, since only people care about prices. The government just cares about what will be good for it, it will set prices in a standard way, which can’t be possible since prices fluctuate. If the free market sets the prices, then there will be competition, and the prices will be better, but that’s not the point. If the government sets the prices, not only will it control the prices, but also the people by telling the people what they can buy, and what they can’t buy. Government sets prices, government sets people.
