In Sergei’s autobiography he is very detailed into what he feels. He expresses very well what he thinks and feels about the leaders of their victims: Christians. He explains the way the believers were, even if they got beaten up many times, they still didn’t give up. This definitely began changing his heart into what he felt about them, even if he didn’t know it yet.
I believe these contrasts do make his narrative more powerful. It makes the reader want to keep reading, it makes the reader feel what he was feeling, and in a way experiment what he was experimenting. These were very well made contrasts that absolutely strengthened the narrative.
